Old William

I'm updating thick and fast today... and still no cat!

The boyfriend has been to the rescue center and decided at 9 years old William is a bit too old for us. He's had a cat before but I never have. We'll be a loving, caring home but we're not experienced owners. Apparently William is a bit of a drooler! Not Williams fault but not something we have any idea about. Sadly, we don't think we are right for William.

Last night we couldn't decide which one we wanted and considered getting both. Now we can't have either.
I didn't realise getting a cat would be so emotional!

On the bright side the boyfriend did send me the picture below with the message "He'll be ready in one month".

  1. Hello friends, allow me to introduce myself...my name is Brian and I have four sisters, Sascha, Gracie, Zoe and Dolly. We were all rescue kitties. There is nothing wrong with an older kitty as they often get overlooked. But there is something special about the younguns too! You will know the right choice for you and they will likely let you know. Best of luck and we'll be anxious to hear how it goes.

  5. Hi! We read about you over at TK and squashies so my mom and I rushed right over!! I'm my moms first cat too before me she was dog people and she did get me at an older age. (I'm a senior cat)Our relationship has been a really great one and mom knew exactly what she was getting into with me because I already have my personality. Something to think about. We wish you luck in your search

  6. Hi Caroline! We also read about you over at TK's! And yes, it is very emotional trying to get a cat! We have four at our house - 2 older and 2 younger. We had a fifth who passed away last October, and we are now looking for a newbie as well - although we are going kitten because they are easier to add to the group. But you will know when you find the right one - be they older or younger! Feel free to stop by our blog to say hi, and all of us out here, and be sure to stop by the Cat Blogosphere - all us cat bloggers would love to help you out with any questions you may have come up in your journey to become a cat mom (and after that too!)

  7. Hi Caroline. We was rescued as old kitties too. Mommy went to the shelter and sais "I want a snoorgly kitty" so she got me.
If you gets a kitten, where you can sculpt his personality a bit, he will be whatever he wants to be. We cats are like that.
So like Brian sais, don't discount us older kitties.
Still whatever you end up with, its just supposed to be that way.

  8. Hi! TK told us to come by and say hello! We think it's cool you are adopting your first kitty! And you ought to consider adopting an older kitty because they are the last to be adopted...just a thought....

  13. Hi Caroline

Good on you for considering adopting a cat even though you're a dog person. My mum is exactly the same. My dad convinced her they should get a cat and now they have me!
